Pushing through the Dry Place

Know that it’s okay to be where you are. To feel what you feel.

Things haven’t gone like you thought. You’ve gone through things that you weren’t expecting. With people that may have not known any better.

You made it out and did not quit.

You experienced betrayal and hatred on fronts that you had not experienced before.

Through that you stood your ground, when they thought you’d cowar and give up.

Give yourself some credit. For sticking firm to your beliefs when they tried to break you. Give yourself credit for not fleeing this time, but for fighting.

You made it through.

You’re drained, you’ve lost your spark, you’re just getting by.

It’s Okay.

It’s not okay to stay in this place for a prolonged period of time.

Acknowledge the hurt, pain, disappointment and other feelings and decide that you will bounce back from this dry and dull place.

Pray and tell God all the feels. If you need to, talk it over with someone you trust and has your best interest in mind.

Do what you have to do in order to move forward.

Whether that means taking time away. Putting somethings on pause. Giving up some of your responsibilities, if you can.

Take time to focus on you. Evaluate where you are now and how you want to make your come back.

Though you are feeling dry and blah. Know that you are stronger for going through it. Look within yourself and see the strength you carry. The scars and the bruises are reminders that you pushed through. That it didn’t consume you like they thought it would. Use it as fuel to light the fire within you. It has and it is still preparing you for things to come. Those things that you desire. Those things that God promised you. Don’t become complacent and think that this is the end.

God did not bring you all this way to leave you here.

Be encouraged. This too shall pass.

From the words of Job:

“But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside" Job 23:10-11.
