For they loved the glory that comes from man
more than the glory that comes from God." John 12:43
When we start new relationships, sometimes, we want to be seen as social media official, therefore "Post me so I know it's real".
Post me to show you're proud to be with me!
Post me so I know you're not ashamed of me!
Post me to let others know we are both taken!
Post me to validate me!
When we aren't posted, we begin to wonder:
Am I not good enough?
Am I not that cute?
Are you not solely committed to me, and you don't want others to know about me? About us?
We get so caught up in this world of seeking validation, likes, and approval.
Post me so I know it's real.
Can we get off of this for a moment and focus on what really matters?
Can we post God so He knows it's real?
Posting God on social media is good, and you should share!
But can we, fareal fareal, post Him on our hearts, our minds, our souls, our lips, our bodies? Can He be the focus instead of us?
Jeremiah 29:13 Says "If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me." Matthew 6:33 Says "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, his righteousness and all other things will be added unto you."
Looking back to our scripture from the beginning, John 12:43 which says "For they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God!" If we are being honest, can we admit that we've all been there before? Or are currently there?
The beautiful thing is that we don't have to stay there.
Instead of seeking validation from people, we can focus on what God says about us...
We are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14)
We are lenders, not borrowers (15:6)
We are Blessed (Deuteronomy 28:6)
We are the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13)
We are chosen (Ephesians 1:4)
We are justified (Romans 3:24)
We are heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17)
We are citizens of Heaven (Philippians 3:20)
He will fight for us, we need only be still (Exodus 14:14)
He is with us (Isaiah 41:10)
"And I am certain that God, who began a good the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day Christ Jesus returns." (Philippians 1:6)
"But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." (Romans 5:8)
"How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered. I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!" (Psalm 139:17-18)
Everything that I am, and everything that I will be, is good enough...great enough for God. Even my flaws, and my mistakes.
It doesn't make Him love me any less.
Post Him so He knows it's real.
So He knows that you seek His glory and His approval above anyone else.
You've got this!
